EU Right of Withdrawal

EU Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cancellation Right)

If you are a consumer based in the European Union, you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with EU consumer protection law.

This right applies to most online purchases of physical goods.

1. Withdrawal Period

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day you (or a third party nominated by you) receive the goods.

If the last day falls on a weekend or public holiday, the period is extended to the next working day.

2. How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal

To cancel your order, you must inform us clearly of your decision before the 14-day period expires.

You can contact us by:

  • Email: info@thedutchhospital.com

  • Or using our online contact form.

3. Important Product Exceptions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to the following:

  • Personalised or custom-made products

  • Items made to order based on customer specifications

  • Back order items

  • Certain hygiene-sealed goods once unsealed (where applicable)

4. Back-Order Items (Important Notice)

Some items in our store may be shown as “Back Order – Deliver Soon” at the add-to-cart stage.

These products are:

  • Not immediately in stock

  • Ordered specifically for you once your purchase is confirmed

  • Clearly identified in advance as back-order items

By placing an order for a back-order item, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • The item is being sourced specifically after your order is placed

  • Delivery times are longer than standard in-stock items

  • We provide clear estimated delivery information before purchase

  • You may still cancel within the EU 14-day withdrawal period; however, cancellation of back-order items may not be treated in the same way as immediate-stock goods depending on processing status and supplier commitments

If production or supplier processing has already started at the time of cancellation, standard EU exceptions for made-to-order or specially sourced goods may apply.

Full details of how we handle back-orders, including estimated delivery times and fulfilment process, are explained on our Back Orders Information page: https://www.thedutchhospital.com/pages/backorder-policy

5. Effects of Withdrawal

If your withdrawal is accepted:

  • We will reimburse all payments received, including standard delivery costs (where applicable)

  • Refunds will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision

  • We may withhold reimbursement until goods are returned or proof of return is provided

  • The customer may be responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise stated

6. Returning Goods

If you cancel your order:

  • Goods must be returned without undue delay

  • You must send items back within 14 days of notifying us

  • You are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise stated
